Digital Signage Expo Announces 2010 Apex Awards Finalists published by digitalsignageexpo.net 01/28/2010

Digital Signage Expo (DSE) announced today that 22 companies have won the distinction of finalists for the 2010 Apex Awards, to be presented at the special awards banquet slated for the opening night of DSE 2010 on Wednesday, February 24, in Las Vegas. A panel of five industry journalists, including editors from Digital Signage Magazine, Digital Signage Today, PRO AV Magazine, Sound & Communications and Digital Signage Expo, voted to recognize these select nominees in eight categories representing end-user venues. The finalists will vie for Gold, Silver and Bronze awards.

“This year’s DSE Awards Banquet will give the digital signage industry more reasons to celebrate the successful installations the Apex Awards are intended to honor,” said Richard Lebovitz, DSE editorial and education director.

Business executives around the world are optimistic about next year, according to the “2010 Marketing Trends Survey” from StrongMail.  E-mail and social media top the list of marketing tactics respondents will increase spending on in 2010. Search came in third. (emarketer 10/12/2009)

It is interesting to point out that all of the lastest studies have a positive outlook for marketing expenditures in 2010 and all reports emphasize the growth of the following marketing tactics : digital signage, advertising online and 2.0 campaigns

Joseph Haslam of Stratemic and Kevin Sigliano of ADmira Digital Networks shared their experience and insights regarding the future of marketing and entrepreneurship at the first conference organized by ESE. The conference Entrepreneurship in a Time of Crisis is the first event organized by the European School of Economics in Madrid.


Mr. Haslam provided interesting advice regarding the art of entrepreneurship in his exposition of “Combating the Crisis by Starting your Own Business”. On the other hand, Kevin Sigliano reviewed the current trends of traditional marketing and the drivers for a marketing oriented corporation. His conference was under the title of "Effective Marketing in Times of Crisis".

Digital Out-of-Home (DIGITAL SIGNAGE) Spend to Hit 3.7B $ in 2013

Digital out-of-home (DOOH) spending is expected to increase at an annual rate of 13.5% annually, from $2.2 billion in 2009 to $3.7 billion in 2013, according to a new report from BIA/Kelsey, which confirms that the medium will far outpace traditional out-of-home’s 1.4% growth.
